Our History
Daniel Rooney, Owner and CEO of Silver State DJ Company, got his introduction to DJing while studying at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC. in 1999. After relocating to the Reno/Tahoe area to attend UNR, he began pursuing DJing as a full time career. He quickly became a staple in the west coast music scene has continued to pursue his love of sound and event production.

I moved to Reno in 2001 to attend UNR. I fell in love with the mountains and Lake Tahoe and never left. I started my business because I have a passion for spreading love through music.
I’ve been a professional DJ for most of my life. I love mixing, scratching, and rocking a party.
I have two amazing teenage children and when I’m not working on music or designing a cool setup, you might find me playing ice hockey, golf, or snowboarding. My favorite food is sushi.
My mission is to make your wedding, corporate event, or private party the best ever!
